Finch began to play softball when she was five years old. She is from La Mirada in California. Doug Finch taught Jennie his very first pitching coach. Jennie first used the Finch Windmill when she was 10. In high school she pitched 6 perfect games and 13 no-hitters. In college, she became an University of Arizona All-American first baseman as well as pitcher. Her Honda Award was also given in 2001 and 2002 when Arizona was awarded the title of national softball champion. The Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball team (WWAST) mission is to raise awareness through the sport of exhibitions and games with celebrities of the sacrifices, perseverance and dedication of our soldiers and demonstrate their capability to conquer any obstacle. The goal of our team is to prove other amputees and the public at large that athletes who undergo long rehabilitation and rigorous training can express their desires and perform the sport they adored.
